AMC Sensory Friendly Films

We turn the lights up and the sound down, so you can feel free to be you at these unique showings for people living with autism or other special needs.

Feel Free to be You

AMC is proud to partner with the Autism Society to offer unique movie showings where we turn the lights up, and turn the sound down, so you can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing! Our Sensory Friendly Film program is available on the second and fourth Saturday (family-friendly) and Wednesday evenings (mature audiences) of every month.

Please check your local theatre listings for specific showtimes, and don't forget to share your family fun with #AMCSensoryFriendly.

Due to each and every one of you, Sensory Friendly Films is a successful program that has provided a more accepting and comfortable setting for our guests, to see the movies they love, for 15 years. A very big thank you to all of you, our guests, for helping make this program a success. We are immensely appreciative of everyone’s support over the years, and now.

From the beginning, AMC paired growth with evolution, beginning with one show a month, to now, four shows per month, with films catering to youth and family audiences, as well as a mature audiences. Today, as we continue to welcome you back into theatres, we have reviewed all aspects of the program and have made a few changes in order to better serve you, our associates, and our business.

With this, we have moved to a two-tiered program:

  • 100 locations will continue to play all 4 showings each month, and are listed as Tier 1, at the bottom of the website.
  • 75 locations will play the 2 Saturday showings each month, and are listed as Tier 2, at the bottom of the website.
